Easy and Effective: the No Fighting, No Crying
'Time-to-Go-to-Bed' Methods that Work!

What's going on?

What we're after - a sleeping childToddlers can't tell time (Children learn to tell time around 3rd grade)
They don't know it's 'time for bed.'

They've been around people all day, now they are afraid to be alone: also known as Children's Separation Anxiety

Some children are afraid of the dark.

SleepySoft's Secret Weapon for Toddler's Sleep!

How You Fix it:

  • Bedtime routines"Same way - every day." Easy, repeatable things we do at kid's bed time, like bedtime stories or bedtime prayers.
  • Separation Anxiety: It's not the "go to bed," they're fighting, it's being separated from you! They need a security object like a lovie or doll, and a bedtime 'separation ritual.'
  • Afraid of the Dark, like monsters under the bed or strange sounds 'outside'; nite lights, cuddly soft dolls and comfort toys and children's white noise sound machines.

Separation Anxiety - What You Can Do...

    Simple Bedtime Separation Anxiety

So, it’s time to go to bed. All of a sudden your child gets whiney, teary... doesn’t want to go.

Your children have been with people all day, now you are going to leave them, alone, and possibly in the dark. That’s when you are most likely to see Children’s Separation Anxiety.

So how do you handle it? For children with normal separation anxiety, here are a few suggestions to make going to bed easier :

1: Have a ‘Good-night’ routine, something you can do ‘Same Way - Every Day.’ Like:

  • A bath and a cuddleA child in bed with her Winnie the Pooh bear
  • Saying their prayers
  • Going around the house giving everyone a 'good-night kiss'
  • Winding up a musical toy or playing a Lullaby CD for a song or two.
  • Going to bed with a security blanket, lovie, cozie or comfort doll
  • Sharing a bed time story book.
